36. Tetsujin with Remote, Dark Brown with Box, Billiken, Japan 1995

This is the Billiken battery operated Tetsujin T28 robot AKA Gigantor. This tin robot measures 8-1/2" tall and was manufactured in 1995 by Billiken, licensed by Osaka Tin Toy Institute (OTTI). This is the scarce dark brown version and comes complete with; insert, postcard, Golden Age of Tin Toys info sheet, and Billiken product guide sheet….all written in Japanese. The robot takes two D-sized batteries, works perfectly and is in excellent condition. The box cover has minimal edge wear, and the bottom has some wear to one corner (see picture). When the button on the wired remote control is pushed Tetsujin’s eyes light up red and he walks and moves his arms. The robot has both the Billiken maker’s mark on the back and 1995.
